Flat Laminate Absorber

Flat Laminate Absorber

ETS-Lindgren’s Flat Laminate Absorber, a moderate performance broadband microwave absorber is a graded dielectric material that has been widely accepted in the microwave and antenna fields.

The absorber is fabricated using three layers of carbon impregnated foam. By using a front layer with a small loss tangent, a centre layer with a moderate loss tangent, and a bottom layer with a higher loss tangent, an electrical taper is achieved that yields a material with an average reflection coefficient of -20 dB over a wide frequency range.

A 100% inspection of the FL series material is performed by measuring The reflection coefficient at the frequencies shown below. The reflection coefficient is guaranteed to be -20 dB (1%) or less at the test frequency.

ETS-Lindgren’s FL is flexible and easily cut using a band saw or a knife with a serrated edge. Best performance is achieved when the absorber is mounted in intimate contact with a metal surface. The front surface of FL series absorber is painted a light blue colour.
